Rotarians believe access to health care is everyone’s right. Four hundred million people in the world don’t have access to basic health care. Our clubs fund temporary clinics, blood donation centers, and training facilities in underserved communities struggling with outbreaks, public health emergencies and basic health care access.
We design infrastructure that allows doctors, patients, and governments to work together. Our members combat diseases like malaria, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, and polio and provide health education.
Rotarians worldwide are united in a campaign for the global eradication of polio. PolioPlus program has provided an army of volunteers to promote and assist with the immunization of every child worldwide Polio has been eliminated from every country in the world except Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Made it possible for several hundred thousand children and adults to receive cornea transplants to correct cornea blindness in India.
Bangladesh Facilitated the raising of over $2M to provide cornea transplants in India and Bangladesh.
Provided eye screening in Baltimore and Baltimore County schools. Currently exploring the establishment of a Volkswalking Club to help prevent diabetes and promote health.
Organized a dental day for people who cannot afford a dentist and need their teeth repaired.
